Katie is an assistant professor in the psychology program. She takes an open pedagogical approach to teaching social psychology, research methods and statistics, and to mentoring students on independent research projects. Her scholarly interests center around intergroup bias (particularly implicit bias), how biases translate to behavior, and how we may be able to use education to reduce individual-level biases. She hopes to leverage this knowledge to share some strategies and insights with the broader PSU community and to facilitate discussions about how we can make this university a more equitable and inclusive place.
