Clusterize Me
In this session, Robin explored Cluster Learning, reviewed its connections to the Habits of Mind
Cluster Learning invites us to think across disciplinary boundaries and to integrate knowledge from diverse areas. Interdisciplinary practice works among and between multiple fields of study, bringing insights together and developing a perspective unavailable to any one discipline alone.
There is no one, simple way of being interdisciplinary — much depends on context, resources, and purpose. Disciplines that are closer to each other in their methods and objects of study may be easier to integrate than disciplines with highly different approaches and traditions. Applied projects may have different needs from theoretical explorations. The resources here will help you think about how your learning, teaching, living, and working may benefit from interdisciplinary approaches.
Interdisciplinarity is one of the three pillars of PSU’s unique Cluster Learning approach.
At PSU, students can create their own major in our Interdisciplinarity Studies (IDS) program.
