The Lamson Learning Commons is preparing a full-service support event on Monday and Tuesday from 9am-5pm in Lamson Learning Commons of this coming week to help you as you work to adjust to remote teaching for Wednesday.
The four teams of the Lamson Learning Commons will provide assistance on a drop-in basis. You will start, upon arrival, at a check-in post and from there you will be directed to the various teams in the LLC depending on your needs:
Library (central location: Reference Desk, Main Level)
- Library Resources links in Moodle: Librarians will be available to help you find and link online articles and/or ebook resources from online databases into your Moodle courses.
- Electronic Reserves: Library staff will be available to receive and process requests for electronic reserves.
- Library Instruction: Faculty should contact their library faculty liaison with requests for information literacy instruction. Many of us can develop exercises that can be done remotely, provide written instructions, or suggest readings.
IT in the Commons (central location: large area outside of Open Lab 114)
- One on One and small group technology help with our whole library of Technology resources – based on YOUR needs.
- In addition, we will have specific support tables focused on:
- The Moodle Zone: Lots of AT staff and experienced Moodlers on-hand to help you set up or modify your existing Moodle shell.

- Kaltura support for hosting and captioning videos to enhance your courses
- Office 365 help with Onedrive, Powerpoint and MS Teams for student support and group work.
- Zoom Video support for recording mini video lectures, and creating a personal link for virtual office hours
- Studio Station for video lecture capture.
- Laptop tune-ups to ensure you have the up-to-date versions of Browsers, AT Apps and other tools.
- eMail: Old reliable is still a valid communication and teaching tool! Tips for doing more with less (tech).
- Do you and your students use SPSS, Adobe, MiniTab, and other PSU Software tools – talk to us about how to extend access to your students.
Open CoLab (central location: lower level, room 003)
- Questions about how to move certain assignments online;
- Questions about how to take applied learning experiences and shift to a remote learning plan;
- Questions about how to scale back your content in the face of a large challenge;
- How to demonstrate care for your students in your remote learning plan;
- HOW THE HECK DO I START I HAVE NO IDEA HAAAALLLPPP!
Writing Center (central location: lower level, next to the CoLab)
- How can the Writing Center help me rethink assignments for this remote context?
- What services can the Writing Center provide to remote learners?
If you stop in to see us on Monday or Tuesday, please bring a laptop and a charger if you have them, or borrow one from the Info Desk when you arrive.
