This hands-on 90 minute workshop is about how we can bring craft into our teaching and academic lives. We will start with a brief presentation/conversation about why this work matters, how it can be used to unearth things we (and our students) have trouble expressing, how it can help us in times of uncertainty, and how it fits into the larger design of education.
Participants will then be able to try creating something for themselves that aligns a particular craft with a particular personal or professional need/goal. Possible crafts: zines, blackout poetry, weaving, collaging.
Light snacks and beverages provided.
