This hands-on 90 minute workshop is about how we can bring craft into our teaching and academic lives. We will start with a brief presentation/conversation about why this work matters, how it can be used to unearth things we (and our students) have trouble expressing, how it can help us in times of uncertainty, Â and how it fits into the larger design of education.
Participants will then be able to try creating something for themselves that aligns a particular craft with a particular personal or professional need/goal. Possible crafts: zines, blackout poetry, weaving, collaging.
Light snacks and beverages provided.Â
