Student Affiliate
Megan is an IDS major with a focus on Consumer Life Science. She is a senior who is graduating from PSU with her BS in December. Stay tuned… she may be sticking around for her Masters!
Megan is a non-traditional student, returning to graduate with a BS at 30 years old. Her role in the IDS Office is as a Student Affiliate who focuses on fostering community, assists with OER, and enjoys organizing.
She attended Gordon College from 2014-2016 where she met her husband, Nick. The Graphic Design program at that time was not living up to her expectations, so she decided to move back home and consider her next steps. She and Nick married in September of 2020… so, it was immediate family only, but they live streamed it on twitch.tv for guests to watch remotely. She then attended Lakes Region Community College and graduated with an associate’s in pastry arts in 2022. She has worked at a grocery store bakery, a local bakery, a chocolate factory, and a school as an office assistant and as a 1:1 paraeducator. After such a variety of work experiences, she is now tying it all together to become a Family and Consumer Science Teacher at the middle / high level once she obtains certification.
