Craft in the Classroom

On October 27, the CoLab hosted a workshop, “‘Make’ Your Way through 2025” to talk about the role of craft and handwork in the classroom. We spent some time talking about the benefits of incorporating these practices in our teaching and then experimented with a number of different craft activities: coloring, weaving, journal/book binding, zine making, clay work, blackout poetry, and origami.

We’ve put together a zip file with instructional handouts for some of the crafts and are sharing the short slide presentation as well. We invite you to explore this resource and reach out to the CoLab if you’d like more information!
