The Open CoLab coordinates and facilitates a number of development opportunities for PSU faculty and staff. The programs listed on this page may change as applications close and new opportunities emerge. If you have an idea for a new program and would like to collaborate with us, please be in contact!

Design Forward

Design Forward is the CoLab's holistic faculty development program that supports a community-based exploration of the intentional design of teaching and learning.

CoLab Student Affiliaites

Each year, the CoLab hires a cadre of student workers to assist with our programming. We welcome any student who is interested in our work and the work of teaching and learning to apply!

Reflective Practice (Faculty)

The CoLab supports small groups of PSU faculty who come together regularly in standing groups to reflect on teaching practice. If you would like to participate in an RP group, please contact us.

OER Grants

These grants compensate faculty for the time in takes to adopt an open textbook to replace a commercial textbook, or review the open textbook of their choice.

Teaching Squares

Partner with other PSU faculty for peer-to-peer teaching observations and reflection.

Cluster Pedagogy Learning Community

The CPLC is a grassroots faculty and staff effort to develop coherence and community around “cluster pedagogy.

ACE 4-Week Workshop

This 4-week workshop is aimed at faculty, and walks through the ACE Framework with the goal of helping instructors design their fall courses so that they are responsive to the uncertain and rapidly changing landscape around the pandemic.

Ambassadors for Career Education

The ACE program provides faculty and staff with resources, informed practices, and knowledge about incorporating career readiness into their curriculum.

This program is a collaboration with the Career Development Office.

P2PU New Hampshire OER Circle

This program was a gathering of educators and librarians from around NH who want to learn about Open Educational Resources together. They met virtually, once a week, via Zoom to discuss OER practices and approaches

USNH Wikipedia Project

Faculty participating in this training will learn how to create and/or add reliable, up-to-date research to existing Wikipedia articles related to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Six Pack

During the 2024-2025 academic year, the CoLab will be hosting monthly topical sessions on teaching and learning. Expect to see three of these offered in the fall semester and three in the spring. Spring Pedagogy Institute (SPIN)

In April 2024, the CoLab hosted the inaugural Spring Pedagogy Institute, a one-day event allowing faculty to focus on course design and pedagogy with time to incorporate ideas and innovations they learn about in planning for courses the following year.

CoLab Affiliates

CoLab Affiliates are PSU faculty and staff who are partnering with us to offer specific programming or support for teaching and learning to the larger community.

Intersectionality Talks

Intersectionality Talks is a new digital speaker series at Plymouth State University that features intersectional work on literature and culture..
