Black Lives Matter and Anti-Racism Teaching Resources

George Floyd’s murder by a white police officer on May 25, 2020, resparked a national protest against police brutality. The Open CoLab joins the nation in mourning George Floyd and stands with all those who protest police brutality and systemic racism. We are especially concerned for our Black students and colleagues and affirm that we will do our best to infuse anti-racism into our work at Plymouth State and beyond.

We recognize our responsibility as a hub for teaching & learning praxis and community-driven academic professional development to facilitate conversation and provide faculty, staff, and students with resources for engaging in the Black Lives Matter movement and cultivating inclusive, anti-racist classrooms. This resource is one small part of this work. More than ever, we see that we do not hold the solution to immense and systemic problems on our own. More than ever, we pledge to do the work to make unheard voices heard. But as we continue with our work, we are determined to listen, to examine our assumptions, and to open space for discussion, challenge, learning, and healing.

We encourage submissions to this resource. Please send any suggestions, additional resources, etc. to psu-open@plymouth.edu.
