Goals

  • beginning/finding the right tool/format/way of creating an OER Theatre History textbook as part of the Theatre History courses at PSU
  • trying several tools to enhance or provide exciting digital alternatives to classroom discussion (I’ve tried padlet and jamboard in professional development settings–but I don’t feel comfortable enough with either to use them in class). Should I devote time to getting more comfortable with one of those OR look for an alternative?
  • exploring adjustments to assignments for ‘The Theatrical Experience’ course I teach that embrace/better integrate current technologies. I’d like to transition from how the assignments are currently set up in Canvas to building interactive templates that are user friendly for students…I believe this is possible in Canvas, but don’t know where to start.
  • expanding my knowledge/proficiency with Canvas, especially grading/un-grading. I attended a professional development offering on Canvas Gradebook last semester and I did learn a lot, but I didn’t learn enough so set up gradebook the way I would like it to function.
