I wish that I could share the theory that the program Think Kids is about with all teachers. I think that at any level of teaching the thought process that Dr. Stuart Ablon proposes is applicable. https://thinkkids.org/
I wish more teachers asked for information on home life/what our schedule is like outside of the classroom so they could get a better understanding of the time/environment we have to dedicate to school. I think this way a lot of teachers would understand that life gets in the way… Read more »
If a student is not doing well in your course, don’t immediately blame the student, understand why it is so difficult for them, and see if you can help them learn better. Sometimes it’s the teaching, not the learning that’s the original problem.
Please try to accommodate and check in with students that have disability accommodations. Also realize that disabled students may be wary about asking for help or taking sick days! I also appreciate well built course canvas pages and well defined syllabus, assignments, etc.

Some students are great at studying/understanding the material, but awful at tests.
