I’d like to learn some new ideas for integrating technology into my class, specifically in ways that make my class more inclusive. Technology can provide opportunities to engage students in different ways and I want to become more comfortable with introducing more of this. I tend to lean on the same things (trying to using zoom and canvas in creative ways, sprinkling in some Kahoots and word clouds in class and also having students create them, PowerPoints, Google docs for group editing, and ‘live’ work, etc.) but I don’t branch out and try new (tech) things in my class. I think I’m afraid I won’t be able to figure it out (never been great with tech, personally). I want to figure out ways to promote real student collaboration when students aren’t in the same room. I want to become more comfortable offering zoom options for students who cannot attend class but I do a lot of group work and I can’t seem to make this really work well.
I also want to try to absorb a lot of new information – but go easy on myself and not feel like I have to take absolutely everything in over these two weeks.
