My favorite part of taking a course or participating in professional development activities is learning new things. Often that manifests itself from meeting new people and hearing/reading their perspectives, which provides me with a different viewpoint or insight into my own practice. My goal for this module is to do just that, and I hope, as an outcome, to have thought more about the how and why. Before becoming a TL, I did not have formal training as an educator, and the summer before I started, I spent lots of time reading and asking mentors about the practical steps of teaching a course but not on how and why.
