If I had a 504 or IEP in high school, can I get supports here?

Five Things to Know

  1. Campus Accessibility Services (CAS) is located in the Speare Admin Building in 209/210.
  2. CAS provides academic and housing accommodations for students with documented disabilities.
  3. CAS serves over 600 students. Information regarding students using services is confidential, and legally cannot be shared with any person(s).
  4. While parents/guardians are welcome to participate in connecting you with our office, it is the student’s responsibility to set up accommodations.
  5. Faculty are only notified of your accommodations if you participate in an interactive process (meeting) with our office and agree to have your accommodation letters sent out.

A Deeper Dive

  1. Documentation can include: a 504 plan, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), a doctor/provider’s note, or a psycho-educational report.
  2. If you have questions about the process or whether or not you would qualify for accommodations, you can schedule an appointment with us anytime–no documentation required!
  3. CAS staff can assist with connecting students with other resources if necessary. We often refer students to tutoring services (PASS), the Counseling Center, or Academic and Career Counseling.
