We are currently accepting submissions to the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Interdisciplinary Studies Award and applications to the honor society, Alpha Iota Sigma! All seniors all eligible for the Outstanding Senior Award and all Interdisciplinary Studies majors with a GPA of 3.0 or above can become a member of the AIS.

Information & How to Apply

Outstanding Graduating Senior Award: Each year, we select an Oustanding Graduating Senior in Interdisciplinary Studies to award at our End of Semester Celebration and PSU’s official Convocation. It is an incredibly high honor and we invite all of our seniors to apply to this award. The deadline for applying is March 1st. You can apply online here. This application includes two faculty references and a short, two-page essay about “How Interdisciplinary Studies has transformed your education/life.”

Alpha Iota Sigma: AIS is an international honor society that aims to recognize the academic scholarship and achievements of interdisciplinary undergraduate students (more info). Joining AIS includes an induction ceremony during our IDS End of Semester Celebration for all, including the seniors graduating in May. Graduating seniors will receive honors cords to wear with their robes at graduation. In order to be considered for acceptance, you will need to print and fill out this short application and pay $20 in student chapter dues in cash or check made out to “Plymouth State University.” Please let us know if this $20 is a hardship; the IDS Office will work with you to help pay. Completed applications and dues can be brought to the IDS Office in Lamson 003 by March 20th at 5 PM.
