Set up Faculty Contacts. . .And Then Use Them!

Take half an hour one day and make sure all your professors are in your phone as contacts with whatever contact info they’ve provided and told you they prefer (email, cell phone, Twitter handle, etc.) That way, when you do need to reach out to them, you will have their contact info at your fingertips.

Of course, organizing the information is only the first step. Once you’ve done this, you need to reach out to faculty when you have questions, need assistance, or want to check in. We know that sometimes, reaching out for help is hard. The alternative— having to struggle on your own— is much harder. You can use “Form letters for emailing your prof” (via @wisebeck on Twitter) as a jumping off point to compose an email to your professor or advisor.
