SUMMARY:Approaches to Generative AI in the Classroom (Series)
DESCRIPTION:This four-part meeting series is aimed at faculty interested in the intersection of generative AI and teaching & learning. Each week we will focus on a particular reading/issue\, emerging from the interests and concerns of participants. \n\n\n\nWe will record key takeaways\, questions\, or ideas from each meeting with the goal of producing a resource at the end of the semester to share with the larger campus. \n\n\n\nPossible meeting topics: \n\n\n\n\ntalking to students about AI\n\n\n\ncreating a usable AI classroom policy\n\n\n\nAI across disciplines\n\n\n\nis AI resistance possible and if so what does it look like?\n\n\n\nmaking critical choices about the use of AI for teaching and learning\n\n\n\n\nLight food and beverages provided.  \n\n\n\n\n\nReading for Meeting on 9/22\n\n\n\nTo kick off this series\, we invite attendees to read The Manifesto for Teaching and Learning in a Time of Generative AI: A Critical Collective Stance to Better Navigate the Future. We will discuss topics and readings on the 22nd. \n\n\n\nInvitation to Annotate\n\n\n\nThe link we’ve provided for the reading will automatically open the Hypothesis annotation panel with the CoLab’s Design Forward annotation group pre-loaded. We invite you to share your thoughts about the reading by adding your own annotations. \n\n\n\n\n\nAnnotation Instructions\n\n\n\nWe will be making use of Hypothes.is for group annotation of resources. You’ll need to follow these steps to participate in annotation activity:  \n\n\n\n\nIf you don’t have a Hypothes.is account signup for one now. If you do\, make sure you know your username and password. \n\n\n\nJoin the Design Forward Hypothes.is annotation group. \n\n\n\nVisit each resource using the links on this page and login to the Hypothes.is panel. \n\n\n\nBegin annotating! Your contributions will be visible to members of the Design Forward Hypothes.is annotation group. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for the Event Series

SUMMARY:"V" Work Conversations Series (9/29)
DESCRIPTION:This is a series of three conversations between the CoLab and interested faculty about how we incorporate values\, vibrance\, vulnerability\, visibility\, vision\, and voice into the design of our teaching. \nEach conversation will engage with two of these topics with pre-readings provided by the CoLab to help center the discussion. Expertise in these topics are emergent; no one right now claims to know everything about this work. Rather\, these conversations will be an opportunity for us to define what we mean and begin to discuss approaches and future work. \nParticipants are invited to share their thoughts about this topic in our working document. \nLight breakfast will be provided on 9/29 & 10/29. Light snacks and drinks provided on 11/18.
