DESCRIPTION:A discussion and workshop on incorporating meaningful visual communication into course design \nWondering how you can incorporate visual design and communication into your courses as a way for your students to explore visual meaning making or to more effectively communicate your own pedagogical goals? During this workshop we’ll spend time talking about infographic assignments\, design projects\, visual syllabi\, and everything in between. Have a background in design? Great! Come and share some of your expertise. Completely new to this territory? That’s okay; in addition to conversation we’ll look at examples and have time to explore some free\, easy-to-use tools.  \nCome for as long as you can for this 90 minute workshop. The first 20-30 will be focused on discussion and sharing. The last part will be for exploring and playing.

DESCRIPTION:This student-led artistic workshop will discuss and explore the emerging concept of ungrading.\n\nIn modern academia\, the idea of student evaluations based solely on ability in a subject is being reconsidered. It is becoming clear that grading systems based on progress and improvement are often far more effective than those founded in student rankings and privilege. Join us on Thursday\, November 21st to discuss this challenging issue\, and to contribute to an artistic anthology of student perspectives reflective of grading.\n\nWe hope to gather your experience and opinions with grading\, whatever they may be. There will be free food and drinks\, and we will provide the art supplies. This event is open to all PSU students. With your help\, we plan to consider and interrogate PSU grading systems and usher a wave of meaningful learning in these university years.
