SUMMARY:Care and Equity: Centering Humans (Design Forward Module)
DESCRIPTION:This module is for those who want to think more deeply about how the spaces they design for education can best support learners and promote justice and equity. Topics may include the decolonization of the classroom\, understanding student agency\, fostering co-constructive mindsets for course design\, and exploring alternative assessment techniques. \nIt is part of the larger Design Forward program offered by the CoLab; participation is by application and all participants must also register for and attend the Design Forward Orientation module. A limited number of stipends are available for those who complete both modules. \nDetails about Design Forward\, the spring 2022 modules\, and the stipend application form are here. \nThe format for this program is asynchronous and online. Participants will receive details about how to access and participate in the program after they have applied and are accepted.  \n  \n

Join the CoLab’s associate director\, Martha Burtis\, for a conversation with Jesse Stommel\, Higher Education Pedagogy Fellow at The Hope Center for College\, Community\, and Justice\, and faculty member in the Writing Program at University of Denver. Jesse and Martha will try to dig more deeply into these concepts tackling questions such as “What do we do when we fell ‘cared-out’? and “How do we build an equitable environment when students’ needs are so diverse?” \nOops!
