Steps
- When assigning a significant research or writing project, build multiple drafts and/or multiple rounds of searching & reading into the assignment requirements.
- Consider adding a reflection or process paper component that prompts students to evaluate the evolution of their work.
Considerations
- While it would be great if students could arrive at this process on their own, this is unrealistic for some students. Requiring it can help students experience the value of iteration, hopefully making them more likely to adopt it when it is not required.
