I think my main goal is to see if I can fall back in love (or like) with technologies and their use in and around the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>I find myself feeling increasingly alienated by technologies. I don&#8217;t use social media, I don&#8217;t engage around new, shiny gadgets, I barely use the &#8220;smart&#8221; features of my phone or other devices.<\/p>\n<p>In the back of my mind, I am constantly wrestling with the sense that these technologies are doing damage to our ability to connect in deep and meaningful ways with one another&#8230;and, for me, the real value of education is through fostering deep connection.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, I have come to see technologies as antithetical to my purpose as a so-called teacher.
