Overall Goal: Modify existing 5-week interdisciplinary curriculum for HHP Intro courses (Intro to PE, Intro to AHS, Intro to Ex Sci) based on student feedback and effective instructional design principles for first year students.
Context: We’ve developed 5 modules (each ~1 week long), common across all HHP Intro courses, to help students be successful in college at PSU, understand the HHP disciplines, and engage with each other across disciplines. Previously, we had Maria Sanders, Philosophy faculty member, lead facilitation of 3-class periods worth of interdisciplinary activities where we combined classes together. Maria is no longer participating, so we aim to re-design the combined class portion. We also aim to re-evaluate and modify the existing modules. Three sections of Intro classes are being held at a common time on M/W, and two sections at a common time on T/Th.
