I have been working over the last week on a syllabus re-write. Sure, I wanted to change things like my late work policy, because it was too strict and didn’t account for the needs of the students. But I really just wanted to throw out my entire syllabus and start over, modeling it off of Dr. Winchell’s article in the Designing for Education module. I’m thinking about my neurodiverse students, my students who haven’t ever seen chemistry and are terrified, and my students who are frankly bored on day 1.
Check out the first draft of it here. I’m really excited about this! I need to update some things, mostly the course schedule at the end (yes, I will still have a schedule), but maybe this will inspire some others to play with infographics in Canva.
