- Less talking, more listening: slow down the classroom. Listen to the students and gauge them as individuals. Where are they at? Where are they coming from? What do they need? Get to know each student personally.
- Less humor, more professionalism: while classrooms on that border on chaos are often the best environments for learning, I think mine may go too far at times.
- Less ChatGPT, more bluebooks: I am putting great thought into whether I ought to bring back the bluebooks for assessments, and even projects. My final goal for this semester is to think deeply about my assessments, as students who cannot generate their own ideas regularly use ChatGPT to perform their work. Students are not learning when using ChatGPT in this context.
