How do I create my own major at PSU?

Five Things to Know

  1. PSU’s Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) program allows students to build their own individualized major that integrates 2 or more separate disciplines.
  2. Students can start working towards an IDS major at just about any point in their college careers.
  3. There are lots of different reasons students choose to be come an IDS major; we welcome all students!
  4. Some students choose IDS because they discover their originally chosen major isn’t actually a good fit for them.
  5. Some students choose IDS because they want to do something different with their education, and there isn’t a traditional major that matches their vision.
