Curious about AI and how it might be impacting our world and the work of education?
Join us for our first “AI Email Challenge.” For five days starting Monday, November 13th, you will receive an email each morning at 8AM containing a few quick things to read, an activity or two to try, and a place to post a short reflection. Join your friends, faculty, and members of the PSU community in this low-stakes week-long program.
Participation is open to anyone, and we recommend expecting each day’s activities to take no more than 30 minutes!
Topics include- An Introduction to ChatBots
- Truth and Generative AI
- Ethical Dilemmas of Training AI
- Unintended Consequences
- The Good & Bad of ChatBots
A Note for PSU Faculty
Feel like the AI Email Challenge might be relevant or appropriate for a class you’re teaching this fall? Feel free to assign it to your students by having them sign up on this site with their email addres! Then, look in the Canvas Commons for a pre-designed assignment we’ve created that you can import and use for your students to share their activity in the challenge with you at the end of the week. (Just search “lamsonAIchallenge” in the Commons to find the assignment!)
The assignment asks them to share links to their daily reflections and write a short final summation. You can modify it however you like!
