During the Fall 2023 term, we will be offering two DF modules:
- Introduction to Pedagogy from September 25-October 6
- Care and Equity from October 30-November 10 (NOTE: This module is now full and applications are no longer being accepted.)
Both modules will be 2-week, asynchronous experiences.
Introduction to Pedagogy
This module is designed for faculty who are newer to teaching and would like the opportunity to think more about pedagogy in a supported, collegial environment.
Care and Equity: Centering Humans
This module is for those who want to think more deeply about how the spaces they design for education can best support learners and promote justice and equity. Topics will include the decolonization of the classroom, understanding student agency, fostering co-constructive mindsets for course design, and exploring alternative assessment techniques.
DF Orientation Requirement
Prior to the start of your module, if you are new to Design Forward, you will need to complete an online, asynchronous Orientation program and meet with CoLab staff to answer any questions and ensure you have access to everything you need to participate. You may complete this meeting in one of two ways:
- drop in for open hours on September 21, between 9-3, or
- schedule a 30-minute appointment with Martha Burtis.
Stipend & Participation Requirement
The stipend for participating is $400. In order to receive the stipend, you will need to participate consistently in the module during the two weeks while it is running. Generally, we recommend you plan to spend a minimum of 6 hours total on the module.
Deadline
Applications for the Fall 2023 module will be accepted through the end of the day on September 1, 2023.
